Are You a School or Community Organisation That Supports Underserved 16- to 17-Year-Olds?
If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you to help them thrive! Join our fully funded, free government-funded mentoring programme. We will connect your young people with inspiring mentors and guide them through a 6-meeting experience that builds confidence, fosters resilience, and equips them to create a real impact in their communities.
Through this structured mentoring journey, each young person will be supported to set personal goals, lead a community action project, and develop valuable skills—all at no cost to your organisation or the young people you support.

“We want to shine a light on the incredible potential these young people have and show them that there’s a community behind them, cheering them on. Mentorship is more than just guidance – it’s about giving someone the confidence to dream big and the tools to achieve those dreams.”
Brian Hammersley, Mentor

This Is More Than Just Mentoring—It’s an Opportunity for Young People to Thrive, Grow, and Make a Real Impact.
- One-to-One Support from a Volunteer Mentor
We’ll pair each young person with a dedicated volunteer mentor from the community—an adult who will help broaden their horizons, provide guidance, and offer personalised support. Our mentors come from diverse backgrounds and are thoroughly vetted, trained, and ready to make a difference. - Structured Support Through Our Community Action Framework
Using a structured six-meeting format, mentors and mentees will work together to identify, plan, and achieve a community action goal. Whether it’s volunteering, starting a local initiative, or creating an awareness campaign, this framework provides a clear path for young people to make a meaningful impact in their communities. - Recognition and Rewards
Young people will build confidence, gain valuable skills, and receive recognition for their achievements. With tangible evidence to showcase on their CVs and opportunities for awards and national recognition, this programme offers benefits that extend far beyond mentoring.

The Minds Behind the Mission

Goal 17 brings years of experience in delivering impactful mentoring programmes that support young people to pursue their passions and take charge of their own development. Our focus is on creating supportive, one-on-one relationships that help young people explore their interests, build new skills, and make decisions. The UK Government has funded this pilot programme to review the impact of community mentoring on underserved young people.
We’re creating a space where young people can feel heard, supported, and excited to take action.
