The 18th May 2020 marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK. Individuals and organisations are coming together in these challenging times to consider how they support one another.

At Goal 17 we wanted to support The Mental Health Foundation so are launching a FREE 5 Day Mentoring for Mental Health Challenge.



The theme of this years event is 'Kindness' and the Mental Health Foundation define kindness as "doing something towards yourself and others, motivated by genuine desire to make a positive difference."

Mark Rowland, the Cheif Executive of The Mental Health Foundation Says " We know from the research that kindness and mental health are deeply connected and kindness is an antidote to isolation and creates a sense of belonging. It helps reduce stress, brings a fresh perspective and deepens friendships. Kindness to ourselves can prevent shame from corroding our sense of identity and help boost our self-esteem.  Kindness can even improve feelings of confidence and optimism."


Kindness an Act of Courage

"But kindness is an intrinsically risky endeavour. It can risk us looking foolish or being taken advantage of, which is why we sometimes retreat. To receive or to give kindness is an act of courage. We want to use Mental Health Awareness Week to support each other to take that brave step and harness the benefits for both giver and receiver." Rowland explains.


Helping you be Courageous

To help you take that leap of faith and embrace the courage you need to show kindness we have designed a special 5 day challenge. Participants will get the opportunity to learn from World Leading Experts and be taken through a step-by-step process to discovering their mentoring ability. 


Perhaps you know you have it in you to support others but have not had the time or framework to do this in the past. This challenge will help learn time efficient and hugely effective ways to support others so that you and them get a new level of Mental Fitness that will be needed in our challenging future.
