Goal 17Ā Safeguarding

Ensuring Safety and Wellbeing for AllĀ

At Goal 17, safeguarding is of utmost importance. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where all participants can fully enjoy our programs without fear or harm. Safeguarding underpins everything we do, and we are proud to be members of SAFE CIC, a leading organization providing expert safeguarding advice, support, and regular monitoring of our procedures.

Our team takes safeguarding very seriously:

  • Majority of our staff are trained to Level 3 in safeguarding for both children and vulnerable adults.
  • All staff and volunteers undergo a thorough vetting process, including interviews, reference checks, enhanced DBS checks, and ongoing training.
  • We provide comprehensive safeguarding guidance, tailored policies, and regular updates to ensure best practices are always followed.
  • All staff and volunteers receive role-specific safeguarding training and guidance, including a volunteer handbook and agreement tailored to their program.

Our overarching safeguarding policy outlines the principles and procedures we follow to protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults. While this policy applies to all our programs, each project has its own safeguarding policies designed to address the specific needs of its participants. These individual policies are shared directly with volunteers alongside their program-specific materials.

We encourage open communication. If you have any concerns about safeguarding, whether big or small, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Your feedback and vigilance play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone involved in Goal 17's activities.
