Voluntary Café Assistant

Location: Bishop's Meadows Community Sports Park, South Wye, Hereford
Hours: Flexible shifts available (weekdays and weekends)
Type: Voluntary (unpaid)
Reports to: Café Manager / Site Coordinator

Role Purpose:

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help run our community café at Bishop’s Meadows Sports Park. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in hospitality, meet new people, and support a vibrant local initiative that promotes health, wellbeing, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve hot and cold drinks, snacks, and light meals to visitors

2. Operate the till and handle cash/card payments

3. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the café area

4. Restock supplies and assist with basic food preparation

5. Welcome and engage with customers in a warm and professional manner

6. Support events and activities by providing refreshments when needed

Skills & Experience:

1. No prior experience required – full training provided

2. Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude

3. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions

4. Basic food hygiene awareness (training can be provided)

5. Reliability and punctuality
