Volunteering Opportunity Details [Apply Below]:
The Community Garden in Ross is a wonderful green space in the middle of town (we are located near the Community Hospital). It is a hive of activity throughout the year, with a range of offerings for our local community. From weekly gardening sessions for adults with physical or mental health challenges, educational schoolvisits, gardening sessions for Duke of Edinburgh Award students (teenagers), occasional events for children, families and the whole community, business engagement sessions, and more - the garden has become an important hub in town!
All of this would not be possible without the support of many wonderful volunteers that join us. Volunteering is a great chance not only to help your local community, but to also to provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment, expand your social network, learn new skills or share your skills, and enjoy being active and outdoors with others. Volunteers will support a member of staff during the gardening sessions. Options include:
- our regular school sessions (Tuesdays, am or pm)
- Duke of Edinburgh sessions (monthly Saturdays)
- occasional events (during the school holidays or occasional Saturdays)
- adult gardening sessions (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, am)
You can commit to a weekly volunteering time or you can help out occasionally - whatever works for you.
