Voluntary General Maintenance Assistant
Hours: Flexible – ideally 2–10 hours per week
Reports to: Site Manager / Project Coordinator
Type: Voluntary (unpaid)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive individual to support the upkeep and improvement of our facilities. This voluntary role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining safe and welcoming environments, and wants to contribute positively to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out basic maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and cleaning
2. Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment or furniture for events or activities
3. Perform routine checks on site facilities and report any issues
4. Support gardening and outdoor upkeep (e.g., mowing, weeding, litter picking)
5. Help maintain tools and equipment in good working order
6. Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers to ensure a safe and tidy environment
Skills & Experience:
1. Practical DIY or maintenance experience (preferred but not essential)
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
3. Good communication and problem-solving skills
4. Willingness to learn and follow health & safety guidelines
