A mentor/befriender supports the Autism Support Service by providing mentoring to individuals or families who have or do not have a diagnosis. A DBS check, Autism, Safeguarding and Befriender training will need to be done before starting the role. A Mentor/Befriender makes an ongoing commitment of minimum 2 hours a month. The role is ideal for those with lived experience, empathy and good communication skills and offers an opportunity to develop mentoring skills.
